Former darts world champion Rob Cross thinks big things about the best German professional Max Hopp. “” He’s been playing on the big darts stages for several years, but he’s still very young. He has played some fantastic games this year with very high averages. That also drives his self-confidence up, “” said Cross before the World Cup in London Sport1, which starts this Friday. The Hesse Hopp starts as number 24 in the most important tournament and has a bye at the beginning.
In his preparation, the 23-year-old visited Liverpool FC last week. In one photo, Hopp could be seen together with his darts colleague Raymond van Barneveld and Reds trainer Jürgen Klopp. “” It was an exciting time in Liverpool. And now on to Ally Pally, I can’t wait, “” wrote Hopp on Twitter.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is coming under increasing criticism in the Corona crisis. The lack of tests and ventilators frustrates medical professionals. Many now face dramatic decisions.
British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is coming under increasing pressure due to deficiencies in combating the corona outbreak. Critics accuse the British government, among other things, of the fact that far too few corona tests are carried out and that there is still a lack of thousands of ventilators for those suffering from Covid 19 lung disease. At the same time, the number of corona deaths in Great Britain continues to rise sharply. Within one day, it jumped 24 percent to 2,921 deceased who had previously tested positive for the virus. The Ministry of Health gave the number of detected infections at 33,718.
In the meantime, clinicians have received instructions to decide in the future, in view of the scarce resources, for which patients it is worth using a ventilator – and who cannot be ventilated. British Medical Association (BMA) ethics committee chief John Chisholm said: “Nobody wants to make such decisions, but when resources are overwhelming, those decisions must be made.” “
30 new ventilators
Resignation in the face of these conditions was literally written on the face of a BBC news anchor this week as she read a government release on ventilator procurement. A first batch of devices, which had been manufactured by a consortium of companies, comprised 30 devices, the newscaster quoted with an incredulous expression on her face. “” We checked it out, but it really seems to be 30, “” she said, frowning.
A video recording of the scene from Wednesday circulated on the Internet and was viewed hundreds of thousands of times in various versions until Thursday alone on Twitter.

So far, only around 8,000 of the ventilators urgently needed for the treatment of Covid 19 patients are available in Great Britain.https://123helpme.me/to-kill-a-mockingbird-essay/ Another 5,000 are to be added in the coming weeks. But that should not be enough by far. At the height of the pandemic, the government expects 30,000 devices to be needed.
British media: “” Chaos “” and “” Scandal “”
British media – including conservatives – consistently criticized the government’s strategy shortcomings on their front pages on Thursday. The newspaper “The Independent” had the headline “” Questions but no answers “”, the “” Times “” wrote about the “” chaos in plans for virus tests “” and the “” Daily Mail “” of one “” Test Scandal “”.
According to this, for example, of 550,000 employees of the NHS (National Health Service), just 2,000 have been tested for the corona pathogen. The statistics on the tests are a humiliation for government members, media commented. Professor Paul Cosford, retired medical director for public health (PHE) in England, criticized the BBC on Thursday: “” Everyone involved is frustrated. “”

Johnson said in a video message on Twitter on Wednesday evening that the number of tests had to be massively increased. This is the only way that NHS employees can self-isolate to check whether they have really contracted the coronavirus – if not, they can then help the patients again immediately. The Prime Minister has also contracted the pathogen and is working in isolation.

Previously, Kurz, who had surprised as a debutant with two wins at the last World Cup, had defeated top favorite Gabriel Clemens 9: 7 in the semifinals. “” I am very happy, I am a little lacking words, “said the Hanauer Kurz at Sport1.
The Super League resumed operations in Munich after the Corona break in May and brought forward the qualification, which was actually planned later, because there are currently no tournaments on the international tour of the PDC world association.

According to a media report, Chelsea are about to sign the German national soccer player Timo Werner from RB Leipzig. According to the British Evening Standard newspaper, only the last few details remain to be clarified. The transfer is expected to be official this week, it said. At the beginning of June, the “” Bild “” newspaper and the “” Kicker “” reported that the striker had decided to move to London – despite a valid contract on things until 2023. Even according to dpa information, the transfer is only a matter of time.
On Tuesday, the “” Bild “” announced that the 24-year-old would no longer play for RB Leipzig in the Champions League if he switched. According to the British media, Werner does not want to risk injury. Leizpig did not want to comment on the subject when asked by the dpa. It is questionable whether the striker could still play in the premier class for the Blues this season if he changes.
The German darts player Nico Kurz is already aiming for the second round of the World Cup in London as a debutant. On Monday (1.30 p.m. / Sport1 and DAZN), the 22-year-old from Hanau will meet Luke Humphries from England, who, like Kurz, is an unseeded player. The two victories of the German youngster against the Englishmen James Wilson and Joe Cullen came as a surprise. After Max Hopp’s bitter third round (2: 4 against Darius Labanauskas), Kurz could become the first German player in World Cup history to reach the round of 16.
Max Hopp and Nico Kurz have cleared the next hurdles at the Darts World Cup in London and are in the third round. Germany’s number one Hopp struggled on Friday evening at Alexandra Palace to a 3-2 win against the Dutchman Benito van de Pas, who had eliminated Gabriel Clemens on Wednesday evening. Before that, the 22-year-old Kurz continued his success story at the most important tournament in the world and, after James Wilson, also defeated Joe Cullen from England 3-1.
In his second game at the World Cup, youngster Kurz showed no signs of nervousness, and in the end the win was completely okay. In the round of 32, Kurz will face Luke Humphries from England next Monday (1.30 p.m. / Sport1 and DAZN). The 23-year-old Hopp already has to deal with the Lithuanian Darius Labanauskas on Sunday (2.45 p.m.).
For the industrial mechanic Kurz, who qualified for the most important tournament in the world via the Super League Darts, the World Cup is already a huge success. As a third round participant, he is guaranteed prize money of £ 25,000. “” I am very happy. I still can’t believe it. Words fail me, “said Kurz in a broken voice in the winner’s interview. So far, no German player in the history of the World Cup has made the step into the round of 16, where Hopp and Kurz now have the chance.
Max Hopp wants to be the first German darts player in history to move into the World Cup last sixteen this Sunday. In the third round, 23-year-old Hesse takes on the Lithuanian Darius Labanauskas. Hopp is almost 60 places better than his rival in the world rankings and is therefore the favorite in the duel. So far, the “” Maximiser “” has won two of two comparisons with Labanauskas. In addition to the German number one, debutant Nico Kurz also reached the third round with two wins. He will play against Englishman Luke Humphries on Monday.
The success story of debutant Nico Kurz at the Darts World Cup in London continues. The 22-year-old Hesse surprisingly won 3-1 against English favorite Joe Cullen on Friday evening and reached the third round. Kurz improved significantly after losing the first set and turned a 0-2 deficit in set two. In his second game at the World Cup, the youngster showed no signs of nervousness, and in the end the victory was completely okay. In the round of 32, Kurz will face Luke Humphries from England next Monday (1.30 p.m. / Sport1 and DAZN).

Southampton (AP) – RB Leipzig’s Champions League opponent Tottenham Hotspur may have to do without star striker Harry Kane for a longer period of time. The 26-year-old injured his thigh on Wednesday during the 0-1 (0-1) away defeat of his team at Southampton FC. Shortly after Kane’s equalizer was denied due to an offside position after video evidence, he had to be replaced. He later left the stadium on crutches.
“Harry Kane plays every minute, he always plays,” said Spurs coach José Mourinho after the game. He could not yet estimate the extent of the injury. “” It could be big, it could be small. In any case, he will fail. That’s negative. Thigh is always negative. Is it a crack, a little thing, a little ailment? I can’t say that at this point. “”
Tottenham are sixth in the Premier League table. The Champions League finalist from the previous year will next be competing in the FA Cup at second division FC Middlesbrough on Sunday. In the league, Spurs received the undefeated league leaders FC Liverpool on Saturday with coach Jürgen Klopp. The Champions League round of 16 takes place against Bundesliga leaders Leipzig in February.
Even after his departure from the Darts World Cup, Nico Kurz kept his grin. For the 22-year-old debutant from Hanau, the positive prevailed despite the bitter 2: 4 in the third round against the Englishman Luke Humphries. “” I will take the experience of having participated in a World Cup with me. I am definitely proud of myself. That I have made it this far is encouraging, “” Kurz said in a first reaction to the TV broadcaster Sport1 on Monday. In addition to the experience, the Hessian can look forward to 25,000 pounds – the highest prize money he has earned in his career so far.
Previously, Kurz, who competes without a nickname, had defeated the Englishmen James Wilson and Joe Cullen. Humphries, who was also unset, played on the same level with Kurz, but showed better nerves at the finish on the double fields. “” Luke was a tad better, there’s not much to say about that. He didn’t give me a chance, that’s why he won, “analyzed Kurz.
After Max Hopp (3rd round) and Gabriel Clemens (1st round) were eliminated, Kurz, who is only 222nd in the world rankings, has now missed the jump into the second round starting after Christmas. In the history of the tournament there was still no German in the round of 16. Especially Hopp, who could have made it through to the round of 16 without a win against a seeded player, was annoyed after his 2: 4 out on Sunday against Lithuania’s outsider Darius Labanauskas.
