SPÖ and ÖVP are now jointly calling on FPÖ boss Heinz-Christian Strache to persuade his party friend Andreas Mölzer to resign. This is no longer “sustainable and a shame for politics”, says a joint broadcast by SP Federal Managing Director Norbert Darabos (SPÖ) and VP General Secretary Gernot Blümel.
You react with it
Mölzer’s comparison between the EU and the “Third Reich”
as well as the expression “Negro conglomerate” used by the FP MEP. These statements are “unworthy, unacceptable and intolerable,” it says in the broadcast. Mölzer, with his trivializing of the National Socialist terror regime, inflammatory remarks and racist abuse, “has long since exceeded all tolerable limits”.
Also the chairman of the Israelitische Kultusgemeinde Oskar Deutsch once again demanded Mölzer’s resignation from the electoral list of the Freedom Party for the EU election. His statements are intolerable and cannot be justified or mitigated by any arguments. The top candidate of the Greens, Ulrike Lunacek, has the same opinion: “The FPÖ’s top candidate for the European elections is ready to resign before the election.”

Yes, where did the two GROKO bosses get the instructions for working together?123helpme Obviously with the Federal President, who always shows his Margit by the hand. Do the GROKO men distrust each other so much that they don’t even scold one another? Now they are traveling in pairs through the country, now they are doing their press release in pairs. Do we have an official SPÖVP soon?

Compare: In News – Foreign Policy: 2Wirl about Schäuble – He compares Putin with Hitler2. NOBODY from the SPÖ or ÖVP demands that Schäuble resign or thinks he is “a shame”. We can be curious how Faymann and Spindelegger will behave towards him at the next EU meeting!

Nobody speaks of the 130,000 regulations anymore. Whether Strasser wasn’t also a “shame” … I don’t know, but if it is true, it shouldn’t even be mentioned again?

On Wednesday evening, all five are for the first time
EU top candidates of the parties represented in the National Council
met. In the Ö1 program “Klartext”, the representatives of the SPÖ, ÖVP, FPÖ, Greens and NEOS spoke out in favor of a stronger Europe in terms of foreign policy. There was once again criticism of the FPÖ top candidate Andreas
Mölzer because of his controversial comparison between the EU and the Third Reich.
The invited top candidates at the Wiener Funkhaus agreed that Europe should appear more united than before. Both foreign and defense policy would unfortunately “be made up exclusively between the governments,” said ÖVP top candidate Othmar Karas. What is needed here is “more joint action instead of intergovernmental action,” said the longtime EU parliamentarian. The SPÖ list first
Eugen Freund agreed with Karas in principle
. With regard to the Ukraine, he said that it was above all important not to add fuel to the fire.
Green top candidate Ulrike Lunacek also said that citizens would expect “more common foreign policy” from the Union. FPÖ MP Mölzer said that the EU should appear subsidiary internally and united externally. NEOS candidate Angelika Mlinar wants a continent for the next generations that is “as peaceful as North America”.
Mölzer in the crossfire of criticism
Right at the beginning of the discussion there was once again sharp criticism of Mölzer’s comparison of the EU with the Third Reich and of his expression “Negro conglomerate”. The Freedom Party himself asserted that this was not intended as a provocation. Karas emphasized again that he considered the requests to speak to be unacceptable, Freund said that Mölzer’s statements were “certainly not” unexpected. For Lunacek it has been shown “what a spiritual child he and his kind are”.
The attitude towards the free trade agreement currently being negotiated with the USA was not entirely uniform. Karas said the trade had to be regulated, so this should be discussed. The EU Parliament will only give its approval if the EU’s rights are preserved. Freund particularly criticized the lack of transparency in the negotiations. Lunacek warned against lowering environmental and food standards, Mölzer also fears pressure in this direction. Mlinar let it be known that the NEOS would give the TTIP their blessing under certain conditions – with appropriate transparency, an “acceptable regulation with regard to investment protection” and a “setting of high standards”, otherwise not.
As his “vision” for Europe, Karas stated above all a strengthening of coexistence within the Union; he does not want any further nationalization. Freund named the fight against unemployment as the main concern. Lunacek would like to see a strengthening of social and ecological standards. Mölzer spoke out in favor of a “confederation of preferably independent member states”. Mlinar saw it differently, which would rather go in the direction of a “European republic”.
Freund: Hypo as a symptom of failed banking policy
Karas said he was not afraid of the topic of Hypo Alpe Adria in the election campaign. Because here the EU gave the right answer with the banking union. Freund said that the Hypo was also a symptom of the failed banking policy of the EU. On the other hand, the opposition candidates underpinned their call for a U-Committee in the domestic parliament.
There was no consensus on which party should put the Austrian EU Commissioner. While Karas and Freund said that this was a matter for the government, Mölzer advocated that the strongest party should occupy the post, and Mlinar also wants to do it that way. Lunacek said that the sender does not necessarily have to be the strongest party.

Companies that regularly violate national and EU laws still sit on the most important advisory bodies of the European Commission, the so-called expert groups. That denounces the non-attached MEP and
Leading candidate of the electoral alliance “Europe differently”
, Martin Ehrenhauser, in a current study.
The study examined ten large companies that are strongly represented in the advisory bodies of the European Commission. The findings of the study are sobering: while these ten large companies have actively advised the Commission or have advised it in the recent past, they regularly and continuously violate laws – often also in those areas in which they help shape future EU legislation.
Reform of the expert groups called for
“In any democratic public there would be an outcry if one were to allow repeat offenders to help shape legislation. Yet that is exactly what happens in the EU. Ten delinquent and corrupt large companies advise the European Commission. This is only the tip of the iceberg. The presence of such Companies in the expert groups of the European Commission and the EU financial regulators undermine the integrity of these advisory groups, “said Ehrenhauser.
The expert groups are necessary because the commission does not have enough in-house experts to work out all the legal texts. That is why it draws on the – up to 800 different – expert groups, which should actually be composed of representatives from business, science and civil society. In fact, there is an enormous surplus of corporate representatives in the influential bodies.
A lot of influence for convicted banks
“It is unacceptable that financial giants like Deutsche Bank and Barclays, on which the European Commission, among others, are fined billions of dollars in fines for manipulating the financial and commodity markets, help shape the financial architecture of the EU. How self-critical the banks.” are about their own misconduct, shows the group of experts convened in response to the financial crisis and dominated by the banks and chaired by Jacques de Larosière. This group of experts never deals with the actual causes of the financial crisis, such as the self-regulation of banks or the concept “too big to.” fail “questioned,” outraged Ehrenhauser.
“How legitimate is it for the Commission to take defense and tax advice from a company like BAE Systems, which has been involved in numerous arms-dealing corruption scandals and has been fined for using a network of tax havens?” he continues to ask.
Blacklist required
As a result, Ehrenhauser advocates the creation of a publicly accessible “black list” of companies that are being fined or found guilty. Corporations on this list should be excluded from participating in the expert groups for at least five years. Companies under investigation should not be allowed to advise the Commission during the entire duration of the investigation.
And companies excluded from the Commission’s advisory bodies are to be denied access to funds from the EU budget for at least five years. “The current dominance of industry in the Commission’s advisory bodies must be put to an end. These are minimum requirements that must be met immediately,” concluded Ehrenhauser.
The study carried out by Ehrenhauser in cooperation with the NGO “Corporate Europe Observatory”
is available for download on its website

The reform conservatives (REKOS) of the EU MP Ewald Stadler could offer Andreas Mölzer a place on their EU list. A decision will be made in a board meeting on Thursday evening, Stadler said on Wednesday afternoon.
“Personally, I am less interested in Mr Mölzer’s fate than in what the voters want,” explained Stadler. “There have been several e-mails suggesting this.” As “derstandard.at” reported, a board meeting will take place on Thursday at which it should be clarified “whether the wish is broader”. He has scheduled a press conference for Friday where the decision will be announced.
“Stupid statements”
The controversial statements Mölzer, because of which he had to leave the FPÖ list, he considers “not only wrong in terms of content, but stupid,” said Stadler. He has not yet spoken to Mölzer about a place on his list, including which list position would be possible, Stadler did not comment, it was first about the internal decision.
